Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Power Delivery Network (PDN) Engineer to join our growing VLSI design team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, modeling, analyzing, and optimizing the power delivery system for advanced semiconductor chips. You will work closely with physical design, RTL, and power teams to ensure reliable and efficient power integrity across the entire chip.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and analysis of Power Delivery Networks (PDN) for SoCs, ASICs, and custom ICs
  • Collaborate with package and board design teams to ensure end-to-end power integrity
  • Perform IR drop, Electromigration (EM), and dynamic voltage drop (DVD) analysis using industry-standard tools
  • Optimize power grid architecture and bump/pad placement
  • Integrate decap strategies and placement into PDN design
  • Run static and dynamic power integrity checks and resolve related issues
  • Work cross-functionally with RTL, floorplanning, and physical design teams to ensure PDN quality and convergence
  • Generate and maintain PDN specifications, guidelines, and documentation

Key Skills & Tools:

  • Solid understanding of power integrity, IR drop, EM analysis, and decap insertion
  • Experience with tools like RedHawk, Voltus, IRIS, Totem, or similar PI/EM tools
  • Familiarity with EDA tools such as Cadence, Synopsys, Ansys
  • Knowledge of chip/package co-design and system-level power planning
  • Scripting experience in Python, TCL, or Perl is a plus
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or VLSI Design
  • [1-3 / 3-5+] years of relevant experience in PDN or power integrity (based on your hiring level)
  • Prior experience in advanced nodes (e.g., 7nm, 5nm, 3nm) is a plus
